A few pics from this evening’s practice, where we played with big swords. We practiced Monte’s first two blows of the levata:
A montante with a forward pass, followed by a reverso montante with a rearward pass of the same foot.
A montante that you convert into a guida with a traverse step of the right foot, to circumvent the party.
Finally we drilled the third blow, 2 reverso montantes, the 1st on the left foot, the 2nd with a pass and return of the right foot.
The use of the rattan wasters definitely helped give a greater sense of how the techniques work with Monte-scale swords. Folks, well done on working hard and making progress, it was good to see.
